Documents Required


Documents required for Registration Certificate


  • Photo


  • Government issued Photo ID such as AADHAAR, PAN, Voter ID etc.


  • Proof of Address of Businesses activity (if address is other than as mentioned in Photo ID card


  • A declaration signed by the applicant



NEW LICENSE


  • All the documents specified above are required


  • List of all directors or partners


  • Business constitution documents such as MoA, AoA, CoI, Deed


  • NOC from local muncipality


  • Photograph of unit


If manufacturing units


  • List of all machineries with installed capacity


  • Report of water test


  • list of all food categories


  • Blueprint of the processing unit


Renewal of License

  • Any change in documents or information provided during grant of previous license.


  • Certificate or Plan of Food Safety Management System being adopted (for units under Central Licensing it has to be a certificate from accredited agencies).


  • List of workers with their medical fitness certificates.


  • Name, qualification and details of technical personnel in charge of operation.


Renewal of Registration


  • Any change in documents or information provided during grant of previous registration


Modification of License


  • Supporting Document(s) for the purpose of modification of relevant field (shall be signed by Authorised Signatory). 


  • Revised Application (Form B)



Modification of Registration



  • Supporting Document(s) for the purpose of modification of relevant field (shall be signed by person whose ID proof had been submitted at the time of obtaining the registration).

Overview

The government of India through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has established the Food Safety Standards Authority of India for providing food safety-related services to the food business operators and citizens of our country.


The authority is working with the mission of setting global standards of food and encouraging and ensuring the business to follow these standards and adopt good hygiene and finally enabling the citizens to eat safe and eat right. The government has established various regulations to be followed by food business operators to achieve its objective.


Any business who is planning to start a business in which any eatables are produced, transported, stored, sold through retail or wholesale needs to get themselves registered with the authority and comply with the standards laid down. 


The license number alloted is of 14 digits with following significance

  • 1st : Wether the business is registered or not

  • 2-3: State code

  • 4-5: Year of enrollment 

  • 6-7: Quantity of enrolling master

  • 8-14: Permit Number
