Tally Prime - What's New

Updated: Nov 23, 2020

Tally has launched one of the revolutionary updates in tally ERP 9 on 11 Oct 2020. It was earlier available to BETA users. We can say that this update is not the last but the 1st step towards automation and revolution. In the 1st phase, Tally Solutions has tried to make its users accustomed to the new look with the more or less same functionalities.

Lets us view some of the changes one by one

1. Go To Button : Alt+G The

most talked about feature of tally prime. The Go To feature in Tally Prime facilitates ease of navigation from anywhere in the product and helps you to handle any interruptions or ad-hoc activities without moving out of your current work. You can view any of your reports on the fly or create and alter masters, or even record a transaction by using Alt+G (Go To).

2. Easy Interactions & rearrangement: Clicks, scroll, right clicks are now supported in tally prime. However, it was there in ERP 9 also, but the capabilities have been enhanced in prime. The right menu have been rearranged to show dynamic content for each different functions. The bottom menu have been shifted to top with several rearrangements.

F1 to F10 are consistent on each function page.

Alt + C and Alt + V are supported now instead of Ctrl + Alt + C and Ctrl + Alt + V

Tally audit features changed to Verification and analysis

Features are now reduced and available in one page instead of different sections.

3. Deprecated Features

  1. 32-bit Application: Tally prime will only support in 64 Bit system.

  2. e-Sugam: e-Way Bill replaced the e-Sugam. Therefore, e-Sugam reports are deprecated

  3. Schedule III Balance Sheet: This feature has been temporarily removed and will be introduced later on with better facilities and improvements.

  4. Tax Audit & Stat Audit: Audit features have been removed and will reintroduced with enhancements

4. Multiple Location GST of same entity: The least talked about feature of tally prime. Now, if an entity has more than one registration on same PAN. Then it was not possible to file separate GSTR for each registration. It was required to create group company and maintain separate records. And finalisation was done with help of grouping them together, But, now it is possible to maintain separate GSTIN in same entity.
