Types of DSC

Class I: These certificates shall be issued for both business personnel and private individuals use. These certificates will confirm that the information in the application provided by the subscriber does not conflict with the information in well-recognized consumer databases.

PAN Card of the Applicant
Driving Licence
Post Office ID Card

Class 2 DSC Discontinued

From January 1st 2021 all Certifying authorities can issue only Class 3 individual and organization certificates. Class 2 certificates can no more be issued after December 31st 2020.

Requirement

Why this is required?


A Digital Signature Certificate authenticates your identity electronically. It also provides you with a high level of security for your online transactions by ensuring absolute privacy of the information exchanged using a Digital Signature Certificate.

Validity of DSC

The DSC comes with different validity and is renewed on expiry. Generally at time of filling application for DSC there comes an option to choose the validity of DSC.

Video Verification

The person whose DSC is to be made, must record a video either through E-mudhra Customer app or through link for minimum 30 seconds. The contents to be recorded in the video should be as (Preferably in Hindi or English):
